Tippu Jayanthi, Section 144 clamped in DK from Nov 9th to 12th

Mangaluru, Nov 08, 2016: Deputy Commissioner Dr KG Jagadeesha ordered Section 144 in Dakshina Kannada from November 09 to 12 as precautionary measures for the forthcoming Tippu Jayanthi on November 10.
Addressing media on Tuesday November 08, he said that Section 144 will be functioning from 6am of November 9 till 6pm on November 12. Section 144 will not be affected for the people but holding protest, public meetings, processions and gatherings will be banned.
Congregation of more than five members, sale of explosives, holding provocative speeches, posting messages in social media is strictly prohibited, he added.
He also said that, as per the orders of State government Tippu Jayanthi will be organized at Zilla Panchayat hall on November 10 and for the smooth functioning of the program precautionary measures have been taken.
Police Commissioner M Chandrshekar said that, prohibitory orders are applicable only for mischief mongers and ensured safety for the people during the Tippu Jayanthi. Over 2,000 police personnel, 300 home guards and special team from Kerala have deployed during this event.
He also said that, 16 concealed CCTV and four high resolution drone cameras will be installed within the city limits, which will be connected to the Police control room in order to avoid communal hatred in the society.
Commissioner conveyed strong message to mischief mongers saying that they should not even dare to think to disturb the peace and harmony of the society, if they do they have face it from the police.
Superintendent of Police Bhushan Borase said that, police personnel will be deployed in sensitive places and check posts will be set up along with additional patrolling vehicle will be in function.
Even floating provocative messages in watsaap is prohibited and group admin will be responsible pertaining such messages, citizens need to be more responsible to inform Police to avoid communal hatred situation in the city.
