Tigers set to roar : 4th edition of Pili Nalike on Sept 29

Mangaluru, Sep 27, 2017:  The fourth edition of Pili Nalike, a tiger dance contest which has gained immense popularity in the city, will this time be held on September  29, Friday  at the Volleyball court, Mannagudda near the Mangala Stadium. The event to  be held with the co-operation of Namma TV provides an opportunity to different Tiger dance teams to engage in a healthy competition by exposing their talents.

Informing this to reporters here,  Mithun Rai, organiser of Pili Nalike and  the District Youth Congress President said  a total of nine teams with 15 members each will take part in  Pili Nalike. The best team will win Rs 2 lakh cash prize and a trophy, while the second place winning team will get Rs 1 lakh. All participating teams will also get Rs 20,000 each while best individual performers will also be awarded. The team with the  perfect body paint, best  drum beating team, best child dancer will also win prizes.

He also stated that only some select teams were invited for the event which will be  inaugurated by Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt.

City Police Commissioner T R Suresh,  District Minister Ramanatha Rai, Deputy Commissioner  Jagadeesh, MLA JR Lobo,  State Minister U T Khader,  former minister Abhayachandra Jain  and several film stars will attend the valedictory event, Mithun Rai said.
