Three more test positive for COVID-19 in DK, toll reaches 12

Mangaluru, April 4, 2020: Three persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district. With this, total tally in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 12. Of 12 patients under treatment in Mangaluru, four are from Kerala, one each from Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts, and the remaining six are from Dakshina Kannada.

Out of the 3 cases today, two had returned from Nizamuddin after attending the Tablighi Jamaat congregation between March 13 to 18.

A 43-year-old man from Thumbe in Bantwal had travelled to Delhi on March 10 and returned on March 22. The road leading to Thumbe has been blocked to prevent the entry of outsiders into the village. The villagers have been asked to remain quarantined at home. The police have made the announcement on the same using public addressing system.

A 52-year old man from Thokkottu went to Mumbai on February 6 and later travelled to Delhi and returned to Mangaluru on March 20.

A 63-year-old female, who is a native of Udupi district, tested positive. She has a travel history of returning from Dubai to Mangaluru International Airport on March 21.

All the three persons have been admitted to the Government Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru.
