Three more COVID-19 deaths in Mangaluru on Sunday

corona deathsMangaluru, June 28, 2020: The Mangaluru witnessed three more deaths due to Covid-19 on Sunday taking the death toll in the Dakshina Kannada district to 13.

The deceased include a 51-year-old woman from Jokatte, 57-year-old woman from Bantwal and 31-year-old man of Idya in Suratkal.

As many as 49 people testes positive for coronavirus cases including 16 members of one single family on Saturday taking, the total tally in Dakshina Kannada to 566. Out of 17, tests of 16 family members returned positive on Saturday. 16 family members includes, 7 men and 9 women including 4 children below the age of 10 and an elderly woman.

The authorities have sealed down the Mastikatte area in Ullal and a petrol bunk in Ujire, after a woman employee tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

The Ullal town has been declared a containment zone and the health workers are sanitising areas such as Kotepura, Mogaveerapattna, Abbakka Circle, Mastikatte, Kallapu, Pandithouse and Kuthar.
