Three killed by lightning in Bantwal

Bantwal, Apr 12, 2017 : Three people died and a two-year old crtical after being struck by lightning on the bank of river Netravathi at Jakribettu in Bantwal on April 12 , Wednesday evening.

 

The deceased are identified as Jayamma (28) Kanakamma(29) and Shashikala (7). Baby Likitha is said to be critcal. They are migrant workers  basically from Tumukur.

 

It is said that the women had been to the river as ususl to wash clothes and have bath. They were struck by lightning and baby Likita was  sitting on the rocks when the incident occurred.

 

Bantwal police reached the spot on information.
