Three arrested on attempt to murder case in Kalladka

Mangaluru, Jan 03, 2018 : Police on Wednesday have arrested  three persons in connection with  murder attempt on Keshava in Kalladka, recently.

 

The arrested are identified as Mohammed Iqbal of Kalladka, his son Nizam(21) who is associated with the Bunder unit of the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Mohammed Sharif(22) of Panemangalore.

Nizam is arrested for abetment of murder as he was found with Channa Farooq,mastermind in the case, during the crime. Farooq, another PFI member, is yet to be arrested.

The other two were arrested for criminal conspiracy, harbouring and abetment of crime.

Reports said that miscreants had launched an attack with a sword on Keshava on December 26.He had received a six-inch-long and half-a-centimetre deep cut near his forehead. However, he survived. He is an accused in the Abdul Jaleel Karopady murder case.

Abdul Jaleel Karopady, the vice president of Karopady gram panchayat in Bantwal taluk, was murdered when he was walking out of the gram panchayat office on April 20, 2017.
