Udupi, April 21, 2017 : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that the proposal for framing a uniform sand policy for the coastal districts was under consideration.

Speaking after  landing  at a specially created helipad  near the Smt Rukmini Shedti Memorial National Government First Grade College at Barkur on April 21, Friday the Chief Minister also made it clear that stern action would follow against those responsible for the attack on the Udupi Deputy Commissioner whoever they may be.


Referring to the recent bye-poll victory, the Chief Minister while admitting that the absence of JD(S) in the poll fray has helped the Congress, at the same time added that it was not the only reason for the win.


On State BJP Chief Yeddyurappa, the Chief Minister said the BJP leader cannot take voters for granted.


To another question pertaining to revival of Brahmavar sugar factory the Chief Minister said that  it may not be possible until sugarcane essential to run the factory is grown here.


Earlier, the Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome by Udupi in-charge Minister  Pramod Madhwaraj, Kaup MLA Vinaykumar Sorake., Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis, Kundapur Assistant Commissioner Shilpa Nag, SP Balakrishna and others.
The CM also received a guard of honour at the helipad.
