Udupi, June 24, 2020: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh has warned of stern action against any Covid-19 positive patient who hides information regarding his or her primary and secondary contacts. Primary and secondary contact tracing is crucial to check the spread of the infection to others, the DC said.
Even now every day 200-250 people are arriving in the district by train and cars. All of them are made to remain in home quarantine while pregnant women, small children and those above 65 and those facing health issues are being checked for Covid-19, the DC added.
He said it is the duty of those in quarantine to strictly adhere to the guidelines. Officials have visited 91% of houses whose occupants have been quarantined, he said and added that the district has stood first in this regard.
