Those asked to remain in home quarantine must strictly follow guidelines : DC Sindhu Rupesh

Mangaluru, March 20, 2020:  Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh who participated in a Meet the Press programme at Press Club on March 20, Friday, has  said  those people who have been asked to remain in isolation  as a precautionary measure must strictly adhere to the quarantine guidelines.

She also requested the public to avoid unnecessary travel. The DC informed that as many as 1000 people have been told to be quarantined at their home  as on Thursday. If those quarantined show no symptoms of Coronavirus for 14 days then they are free to go out, the DC said. She  further requested public to strictly follow social distancing.

Gayatri Nayak, City Development Officer  spoke on the measures taken to prevent  spread of Coronavirus by screening passengers at the port as well as airport. She also stated that ASHA workers have been trained to sensitize public on Coronavirus.

District Working Journalists’ Union President Srinivas Nayak Indaje,   General Secretary Ibrahim Adkasthala, Health Officer Rajesh, Information Officer Khader Shah and others were present.
