Thieves strike Boliyar near Ullal; burgle nearly 7 shops

Mangalore, Aug 11, 2014:   Thieves who targeted as many as seven shops  at Boliyar late night on August 9, Saturday have decamped with a booty worth over Rs 2 lakhs.

  Valuables worth Rs 1.5 lakhs  including gold and silver jewellery as well as one gram jewellery were stolen from the Srinidhi Jewellers  belonging to Narayana Achar. In another burglary in Shoe Bazar belonging to Naufal, sandals worth Rs 13,000 were stolen while  cash was stolen from a saloon belonging to Dhananjaya Achar.  In yet another burglary in Avinash Jewellers, gold and silver valuables were stolen while  cash of Rs 10,000 was stolen from a chicken stall of Moosa Kunhi and grocery store of Keshav Bhandari.

Meanwhile, it has also been gathered that thieves even made a vain bid to burgle a plywood shop owned by Majeed and Mahalasa Sweets Stall. It is learnt, the thieves broke open the locks to enter the shops.
