Thenkila Gudde, domestic animals face distressing times

Mangaluru, Aug 16, 2019: Families from Thenkila Gudde have been shifted following the appearance of chasm on Thenkila Gudde, the domestic animals belonging to these families are in distress.

The animals were left behind by the families. A few family members visit the houses and take the cattle for grazing. However, a few dogs have stopped eating without their masters and were seen shedding tears.

In fact, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) had proposed to construct a 20 lakh litre capacity water tank on the foothills of Thenkila Gudda and had purchased 63 cents of land for the purpose. Following the appearance of fissure on the hillock, the officials visited and inspected the area.

Executive engineer Ashok M Burukule said; "We have written to the Mines and Geology department and have sought  a detailed report. The decision on constructing the tank will be taken after going through the report and the recommendations of the expert."
