Mangaloretoday News Network

Mangalore, 22 March 2011: Thanniru Bhavi of Mangalore is located just 2.5 K.M. from NH 17 at the beautiful coastline and should have found a place in the world map, but due to lack of basic facilities it had fallen behind.

Ever since the Denden cargo ship got drowned near here, this beach drew attention and attracted lakhs of people and now the Tourism department is in the process of spending about 55 lakh rupees to improve the facilities here for the tourists.

Two towers for viewing the sunset, high mast lighting installation, toilet facilities and huge parking areas are included in these new facilities. Paid parking space is being built for about 60 cars and 70 two wheelers in the parking area here.

Concrete road with foot path is being constructed from Kulur bridge to New Mangalore Port Trust guest house by NMPT, is in the finishing stage now.

With no dust or noise of the traffic and being located at the shore of the calm Gugupur river having the scenic beauty of beautiful nature at one side, there is no doubt that this Thanniru Bhavi sea shore will attract thousands of tourists in the days to come.
