Thalamaddale Sapthaha inaugurated in city

Mangaluru, Nov 10, 2014:  Nearly 75  artistes are participating  in the Thalamaddale Sapthaha which commenced at the Ravindra Kala Bhavan of University College on November 9, Sunday. The event is organised by Yakshangana and P Dayananda Pai and P Satish Pai  Yakshagana Study Centre  of Mangalore University.

 

 

 

K Chinnappa Gowda Director of the Study Centre who spoke at the inaugural ceremony said such events go a long way in promoting Thalamaddale and Yakshagana. He also stated that Himmela and Mummela artistes from different troupes  are participating in the Thalamaddale Sapthaha.

 Kannada Rajyotsava Award winning veteran Yakshagana artiste Sampaje Sheenappa Rai was felicitated  at the function. A book based on the life and contributions of  another veteran artiste Late Siddakatte Chennappa Shetty was also released.
