Mangaluru, Mar 18, 2015 : Two terror suspects who were arrested in 2007 during a raid on a house at Mukkacheri in Ullal wherein explosives were seized and were subsequently lodged in Mumbai jail, were brought to the city on March 18, Wednesday and produced before the Third Sessions Court.
The two namely Ahmed Bava Aboobakker and Syed Mohammad Naushad were brought to the city by the Mumbai police. Five others who too were arrested during the raid were also produced before the court. They are Javed Ali, Mohammad Ali, Fakir Ahmed, Mohammad Rafique and Shabbeer Bhatkal. They have been charged with illegal possession of arms and also booked under anti-terror laws.
It was the 2007 raid at the Mukkachery house that gave the cops vital clues that terrorists had used Mangaluru as a safe hideout and also that even Indian Mujahideen Co-Founder had chosen to make Mangaluru his hideout for some time.
Five other accused in the case are still at large.
It has been gathered that the next hearing in this case is slated for June 3.
