Team Mangalore shines at 32nd Artevento International Kite Festival

MANGALORE, May 13: Team Mangalore, a hobby group of avid kite fliers from Mangalore, represented India at the 32nd Artevento International Kite Festival organized on Pinarella Beach at Cervia in Italy.


Claudio Capelli and Caterina Capelli, a couple of renowned Italian artists, were the organizers of this international kite flying event.

Team Mangalore presented some of their best kites created on the theme of Indian traditions and folk art. The team comprising Sarvesh Rao, Nithin Shetty, Dinesh Holla, and Prashanth Upadhyaya was a guest of honor at this event. Prashanth Upadhaya fascinated the Italian audience with his Yakshagana performance.

 

Dinesh Holla presented a live demonstration of art kites and line art work. In brief, the team added color to this festival by showcasing unique kites, exhibiting cultural talent, and demonstrating art work.


The kite festival attracted kite fliers from more than 38 countries, many of who are internationally acclaimed.


Team Mangalore has become famous worldwide by participating in a number of international kite festivals organized in France, UK, Canada, Dubai, Korea, Shri Lanka, and other countries. They aim at popularizing the rich culture, folk art, and tradition of India through their colorful kites.
