Teacher accused in Bajal school girl sexual abuse case at large

Mangaluru, March 04, 2016: As per reports, a teacher is at large after a case was registered against him for sexually abusing a girl student and threatening to kill the headmistress for accusing him.  Mohan Rai, 43, a Kannada teacher working at a private school in Bajal is accused of sending obscene messages and luring her to accompany him to malls, movie-halls and ice-cream parlours.

The girl narrated the ordeal to the headmistress who discussed it with other girl students. Once convinced, the headmistress informed the school governing council who suspended the teacher from service.  In a rage, Mohan barged inside the headmistress office and threatened to kill her.

Two cases have been registered against the teacher under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) and for issuing a murder threat.  Police are on the look out for the absconding teacher.
