Tackling water problem a priority in Udupi district

Udupi, Apr 23, 2019: Hephsiba Rani Korlapati the Udupi DC on April 22, Monday directed  officers to take all steps to tackle drinking water scarcity in the district.

The DC was presiding over a meeting on tackling drinking water problem in rural and urban areas of the district.

DC  Korlapati said that officers should respond immediately to the complaints of people with regard to drinking water. Any dereliction on their part in this regard would be dealt with seriously. 

The urban and rural local bodies should be ready to tackle any drinking water problem, she said.

She also directed the officers to take steps to take up rainwater harvesting in gram panchayat buildings, hostels and other government building in the district.

Chief Executive Officer of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat Sindhu B. Rupesh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari, Chief Planning Officer Srinivas Rao, Project Director of Urban Development Cell Santosh Kumar were among those present.
