Swachh Abhiyan in city finishes 260 of 400 drives planned

Mangaluru, Mar 15, 2017: Reports recived inform that the Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan undertaken by Ramakrishna Mutt on March 12, Sunday witnessed the completion of 260 of the 400 drives planned for the year. with volunteers doing a tremendous job of cleaning  11 areas  across the city, conveying the message of Swachh Mangaluru-Swachh Bharat among in the city.

Road dividers on Maidan Road in front of the RTO office and surrounding areas were cleaned by members of Sri Krishna Bhavan Auto Drivers’ Team and others. Team Deshabhimani members cleaned the surroundings of Jyothi (Ambedkar) Circle, including the road and footpath leading to KMC Hospital.

Gandhi Park at Mannagudda and surrounding areas were cleaned by residents of the area.

Students of Karnataka Polytechnic joined hands to clean the surroundings of their institute as well as the national highway.
The members of Prerana social service group, cleaned the surroundings of PVS Circle for about three hours.

Members of Nivedita Balaga cleaned the surroundings of Bolar, including the government primary school premises. Volunteers also visited houses in the area to make aware the scientific waste disposal in place.  Amba Maheshwari Bhajana Mandir and others took up a cleaning operation on Bolar Ferry Road. They also gave a fresh coat of paint to road sign boards of the area.

Swachh Padil members cleaned Padil and surrounding areas, Perla and Veeranagar. Kshema Group medical students carried out the drive at Deralakatte, with many doctors joining hands with them.

Members of Junior Chamber of India, Ganeshpura, Navodaya Youth Group, Team Aasare, Kesari Friends and others cleaned Katipalla area, from Ganeshpura Circle to MRPL cargo gate. National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from St. Aloysius College did the service in a vigorous manner at Karangalpady area giving it a fresh look. More awareness to keep the city clean is becoming visible through these efforts.
