Udupi, May 03, 2019 : The wreckage of the Suvarna Tribhuja fishing boat from Malpe has been found off the Malvan coast in Maharashtra almost four and a half months after the boat with seven fishermen on board went missing in December last year.
The wreckage of the boat has been found by expert divers and staff of INS Nireekshak 33 kms off the coast of Malvan, a spokesperson on the Navy has tweeted.
The fishing boat with two fishermen from Udupi district and five from Uttara Kannada district had ventured into fishing on December 13 and had lost contact on December 15. Since then there was no trace of the boat despite a massive search operation.
The wreckage was found almost 60-70 meter deep in the sea. Though the Navy spokesperson has not said anything about the fishermen who were on board Suvarna Tribhuja, it is feared that none of them have survived.
