Suvarna Tribhuja tragedy : Defence Minister urged to provide higher compensation for families

Mangaluru, Jan 28 2020: A delegation  of fishermen from Malpe, led by  State BJP President and local MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje and Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on January 27, Monday and submitted a memorandum seeking higher compensation from the Centre for the families of the missing fishermen of the Suvarna Tribhuja  boat. The boat which had ventured into fishing a year ago, had gone missing.

 

The delegation met the Minister during his visit to Mangaluru to attend the pro-CAA convention.

Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Fisheries Federation President Yashpal Suvarna, Fishermen leaders Satish Kunder, Raviraj Suvarna, Harish Kunder and  family members  of the missing fishermen  were present.
