Suspected Dengue claims lives of 2 children in Belthangady

Belthangady, June 18, 2015 : A nine year old girl and a two and a half year old boy  who were suffering from  fever have breathed their last on June 17. The suspicion is that they might have contracted Dengue. With this the total number of deaths due to suspected Dengue in the taluk has risen to three.


Dengue The deceased children are Nauseena, daughter of Ibrahim of Maladipalke and Dheeraj, son of Chennappa Gowda of Kanyadi Posoklu in Dharmasthala.

Nauseena, a Class IV student of Malady Government Higher Primary School was suffering from fever since a week and was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru a few days ago after initial treatment at a local hospital.

Dheeraj on the other hand had fever and was also suffering from dysentery since June 15 and  breathed his last at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru.
