Mangalore, Aug 28, 2014 : Concern over dumping of waste from poultry stalls into rivers and water bodies across Dakshina Kannada district, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim has directed all the urban local bodies (ULB) to conduct a survey of meat stalls and submit a report on the waste generated by the stalls within a month.

Chairing a meeting, he said that the officials should conduct the survey in the month of September and issue notices to those stalls who have been dumping the waste into water bodies.

If they fail to adhere, then action should be initiated under KMC Act from October.
