Sunni lifetime achievement award for Moideen, Sept 22

Mangaluru, Sep 22, 2016: It is reported that former education minister B A Moideen, who was recently conferred D Devaraj Urs Award by the state government, has been selected for lifetime achievement award instituted by DKSC, Dakshina Karnataka Sunni Centre, Mangaluru.

 minister B A MoideenAddressing media, chairman of reception committee for 20th anniversary of DKSC, B M Mumtaz Ali said, "The anniversary celebration has been arranged on September 22 at 2 pm at Town Hall. One each from hindu, muslim and christian communities will be conferred ’Sadbhavana Award.’


The chancellor of Yenepoya University Y Mohammed Kunhi will be conferring ’Yenepoya University’ award on 20 educational institutions functioning from at least 20 years. Besides, 20 Ulemas (muslim scholars) rendering their service at the same mosques from the past 20 years will also be felicitated."

Dakshina Kannada Khazi Twaqa Ahmed Musliyar Khazi and P M Ibrahim Bekel Khazi of Udupi district will inaugurate the programme. Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment B Ramanath Rai will distribute sewing machines to 20 selected beneficiaries from economically weaker families, while Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader will hand over push carts to five beneficiaries. DKSC president K S Atakoya Tanzal Kumbol will preside over the inaugural ceremony.

The three-day valedictory programme has been arranged from December 2 at Al Ihsan Campus, Muloor, Udupi district. Mass marriage ceremony of 20 couples has been arranged on December 4, said Ali.
