Sullia : Housewife jumps into Payaswini river along with 3 kids

Sullia, May 18, 2016: A young housewife has  ended her life along with her three kids by jumping into the Payaswini river on May 17, Tuesday evening.

The deceased are  Kusuma (33), wife of Raviraj of Mulya Atlooru in Ajjavara and   her children Likhita(5), Rakshita(3) and Srajan(2). The reason behind Kusuma’s extreme step is not known.

She hailed from Bandadka. Of her three children, the eldest, five year old Likhita was an LKG student in a private school at Sullia. Raviraj, an electrician in a private college in Sullia had gone to work as usual when the incident took place. Kusuma stayed with her in-laws  and had left home on Tuesday afternoon along with her kids saying she was going to the farm. She had even taken a grass cutting knife with her.  However, she  jumped into the river.

Meanwhile, when Kusuma and her kids were not to be seen around for long, a frantic search was launched and   Raviraj’s uncle noticed the body of a child floating in the water. Subsequently the bodies of the rest three were recovered.

Hundreds of people had rushed to the place on coming to know about the incident.

Sullia town police have registered a case.
