Subrahmanya group clash case : HJV leader Guruprasad remanded to judicial custody

Sullia, Nov 01 2018:  A Court in Sullia has remanded Guruprasad Panja, Secretary of the Taluk unit of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike to  judicial custody till November 13 in connection with the recent clash between two groups at Kashikatte of the pilgrim town of  Subrahmanya. 


Guruprasad Pan...Guruprasad who was  injured after he was allegedly assaulted by Chaitra  Kundapur during the clash and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Puttur, was taken into custody by the police on Wednesday. He was subsequently produced before the court. The court has agreed to admit him to hospital  if necessity arises.

Police had registered a case against Guruprasad and four others on the charges of  rape attempt and dacoity attempt on the basis of a complaint by Chaitra Kundapur of the rival gang. Meanwhile, a  murder attempt case was also registered against Chaitra and  five others as per the complaint lodged by Guruprasad.
