Strict lockdown comes into force in Dakshina Kannada district

Mangaluru, July 16, 2020:    The week-long lockdown announced by the district administration to check the spread of Covid-19,  commenced at 8 pm on Wednesday.  However as announced by the administration there was a relaxation from 8 am to 11 am for the people to buy essentials include milk, vegetables and eatables. For this purpose all grocery, food and meat stalls are allowed to function during this period by strictly adhering to Covid related norms.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the strict implementation of the lockdown  from 11 am onwards when  the relaxation period ends.

The lockdown decision was taken considering the rising cases of Covid-19 in the district in the past few weeks.

The streets of the city are wearing a deserted look as the administration has already warned of action against unnecessary movement on roads.
