Strict action to prevent sale of tobacco products near schools, colleges : Udupi DC

Udupi, Nov 15, 2019:  Udupi Deputy Commissioner  G Jagadish has instructed officials to initiate stern action against anyone found selling tobacco products near schools and colleges.

 

 

Speaking at the tri-monthly District Tobacco Prevention Unit meet held on Thursday  he has also instructed the  officials of the High School and Pre-University Education Department to submit a report within a week after confirming no tobacco product is sold near education institutions. He further stressed the need  to ensure strict action against  those violating the rule.

The DC also instructed putting up of Tobacco Free Zone hoardings at all beaches in the district.
