Mangaluru, May 14, 2017: Religious fundamentalism in one religion cannot be countered by  a similar move in another religion. Strengthening democratic and progressive forces is the only answer to the problem, said  Mohammad Riyaz Calicut,  All India President of DYFI.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Muslim Youth Conference organised by the DYFI at the Shanti Nilaya at Balmatta on May 14, Sunday. "It is regretting to note that the youth  of the minority community were getting attracted towards communal organisations in a bid to fight the communalism patronised by RSS. Youth have to realise that this is not the answer," he stressed.

Former minister BA Moidin who spoke as a chief guest said democracy can succeed when the minorities can lead a life  without any fear. Secularism is the life of this country. Youth should shun fighting in the name of caste and religion and should be messengers of equality, he said.
