Steps taken to tackle Bidar water crisis : Minister Umashree

Mangaluru Apr 16, 2016: State Minister for Women and Child Welfare  Umashree who also happens to be the in-charge minister of Bidar district, has said that all requisite measures have been taken to tackle water crisis in Bidar.

Speaking to reporters  at the District Congress Office on April 16, Saturday she said as an alternative, steps have been taken to supply water to  affected areas through tankers. Tenders have also been invited to dig borewells in Zilla Panchayat areas, she said and added that nearly Rs 5-6 Lakhs CSR Funds will be used to drill borewells in the affected areas. 

Expressng her resent over cases of Love Jihad and honour killing, she warned of strict action against the accused.  There is a need for change in mindset of parents to prevent cases  of honour killings, she said.
