State’s largest debate competition Verbattle announced

Mangalore, July 30, 2011: The 7th edition of Verbattle, the largest debate tournament for school and college students in the state, which will be organized in collaboration with the International Debate Education Association, has been announced. It will comprise 3 competitive events titled Verbattle Junior, Verbattle Senior, and Verbattle Beginner for people in the age group of 8 to 24.

 

 

Verbattle will be held from July 28 and August 19 in Bangalore, Hubli, and Mangalore. The Mangalore version will be held on Aug 1 – 3 and over 250 teams from schools and colleges all over Mangalore are expected to participate. The competitions for juniors will be held on Aug 1 – 2 and for seniors on Aug 2. The finals for seniors will be held on Aug 3. Those interested can contact 9886464641.

Verbattle Junior is meant for students between 12 and 16 years of age and Verbattle Senior is for college students between 16 and 24 years of age. The two events will be held side by side with Verbattle Beginner for primary school kids aged between 8 and 12.

Selection will be done for 3 days in each zone, and the selected teams from each zone will participate in the finals at Bangalore on Aug 19.
