State restricts stock limit on grains directs UT Khader

Mangaluru July 6, 2016: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies UT Khader directs in restricting stock limit of grains and whole sale retailers can store only up to 50 quintals while retail shop in rural areas can store up to 1000 quintals ,as it being considered as a weapon to mitigate the prices of essential commodities. 

 



Addressing to the press meet at Eden Club today, June 6 Wednesday UT Khader said that after the hike in the essential commodities people are affected  because of highly dependent on these protein based food grains. As per the new norms grains should be supplied for three months at 130 rupees per Kg from 8th of July.

People have bamboozled by the shopkeeper by selling the pulses at 350 per kg in remote areas. In order to smooth supply of food grains it is necessary to restrict stock limit on grains, said UT Khader.

He also said that, nearly 90% of the process of Aadhar linking has been completed and bogus cards who are entitled for APL cards are found possessing BPL Cards will be discarded.
