State govt waived farm loans as Modi govt failed to do so : DyCM Parameshwar

Mangaluru, Aug 10, 2018:  Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar  who is in the city on August 10, Friday, said  the state government waived off the farm  loans  to   help farmers tide over crisis as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government has failed to solve the problems of the farming community.

Speaking to reporters at Circuit House on August 10, Friday, he said    the state government was committed to provide good governance and hinted that it even has plans to waive off farm loans taken from nationalised banks. The government wants to prevent the farmers from taking to extreme steps, he added.

Parameshwar also said that the Congress would not tie-up with the JD(S) for the local body polls. On the comments of MLC Bhojegowda that the Congress had lost in the coast as it had neglected Hindus,   Parameshwar said it was his (Bhoje Gowda’s) personal opinion.

District Congress President and MLC Harish Kumar, former MLAs J R Lobo, Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister B Ramanatha Rai and others were present on the occasion.

The Deputy CM had arrived in the city on way to Bhatkal where he is scheduled to attend a private function.
