Mangaluru Apr 12, 2016: State government has failed to solve the water crisis that has affected various parts of the state, alleged senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa.
Speaking to media at BJP office on Tuesday April 12, he said the state government has failed to fulfill its promises to mitigate water shortage problem.
There are nearly 136 taluks in the state which are suffering from drought but none of the ministers have taken the initiative to visit drought hit areas in the state and to conduct review meeting so far to sort out the issues. This is nothing but sheer negligence on the part of the ministers, said Eshwarappa.
He further said that though multi-village water supply projects were launched in the outskirts of Kinnigoli, Moodbidri, and Mulki in 2009, the scheme has not been implemented in these areas.
Speaking about Yettinahole Project, Eshwarappa said that there is no one to speak on it except experts. The issue needs to be discussed with Central Government Ministers, he added. The State Government is not showing interest in the development of the state, instead it was trying to create a lot of problems, he added.
BJP District President Prathap Simha Nayak, MLA Sunil Kumar, former MLA Yogish Bhat, former MLC Monappa Bhandary and others were present.
