St. Vincent de Paul Society to organize 38th mass marriage ceremony

Mangalore, May 2, 2012: Molly D’Souza, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, told reporters at a press meet held in Press Club on May 2 Wednesday that the society will organize its 38th mass marriage ceremony in Rosario Cathedral on May 6 Sunday. 

The chief guests of this ceremony will be Mrs. and Mr. George Pinto, the superintendent of Central Excise for DK District. Around 2,500 friends and relatives of the couples are expected to participate in this event. 

The objective of organizing such mass marriage ceremonies is to assist Christian couples from economically backward families to get married at low cost. Each couple will be given gifts and Rs. 20,000, she said. 

Vincent de Paul Society President Joachim Monteiro and members Trisa D’Souza, Lawrence Pinto, and Herald D’Souza were also present.
