Speeding tempo laden with cement mixer claims lives of 3 labourers; 18 injured

Karkala, July 18, 2014 : The reckless driving of a tempo driver  claimed the life of three labourers while injuring nearly 18 others  at Manoor near Ajekar on July 18, Friday.

 

 

 

The tempo in which several labourers were crammed was also loaded with a cement mixer unit. The tempo was heading towards a construction site when the mishap took place.

It is said the tempo driver was speaking over mobile phone and speed forthing when the cement mixer inside the  vehicle  rolled over three labourers, crushing them to death.The injured have been rushed to the Karkala Government Hospital.

The labourers worked under a contractor named  Nagappa.
