Special postal cover on Gandhi, release today, Feb 25

Mangaluru, Feb 25, 2019: Special postal cover on Mahatma Gandhi, to commemorate his visit to Udupi on February 25, 1934 and establishment of Mahatma Gandhi College in the city in 1949, will be released at Counseling Hall of Manipal.edu building, Manipal University here, today February 25 at 11.30 am.

The event is being jointly organised by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Academy of General Education. Charles Lobo, Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka circle, Bengaluru will release the special cover.

MEMG Bengaluru  Chairman Dr Ranjan Pai and Registrar Academy of General Education will preside over the programme.

Mahatma Gandhi had also addressed a public meeting at Ajjarkad and spoke about untouchability and Swadeshi Movement. The country is also celebrating his 150th birth anniversary.
