Southern Railway Employee killed during maintenance work

Mangaluru   Aug  20, 2016 : A Southern Railway employee was killed and another injured when counter weights of a crossover cable fell on them  during maintenance work on August 19, Friday at West Hill Elathur Section .

 

The deceased is identified as P Krishnana(58). He worked as Senior Technician in Southern Railway. The injured is TK Vineesh (32), a Helper. Vineesh  is being treated at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.

The weights fell down as the cable connecting the up and down lines snapped.

Movement of road vehicles at the level crossing gate at West Hill was also affected due to the mishap.
