South Indian Orthopaedic Surgeons in Manipal to Hold Live Surgeries, Conference Sept 1 to 3

Mangaluru, Sep  2,2017: The 16th Annual Conference of Orthopaedic Association of the South Indian States (OASISCON- 2017), under the aegis of Kasturba Medical College and Hospital and Manipal University, is in progress at the Dr TMA Pai Hall, September 1 to 3, 2017.  As many as 800 orthopaedic surgeons from all over South India will be take part in the three-day conference.


Surgeries


OASISCON 2017  inaugurated at 6.30 PM on September 1 at the Dr TMA Pai Hall, KMC Campus Manipal. Dr. H. S. Ballal Pro Chancellor of Manipal University as chief guest. Dr. Poornima Baliga pro-vice chancellor is the guest of honour.

Dr Sharath K Rao Associate Dean and Unit Head Department of Orthopaedics KMC Manipal is the organizing chairman of the event and will be taking over as the President of Orthopaedic Association of South Indian States (OASIS) and Dr Kiran V Acharya , Unit Head Department of Orthopaedics KMC Manipal is the organising secretary of the Oasiscon 2017.

Live surgeries on joint replacements of shoulder, hip and knee will be one of the highlights of the conference. Workshops on bone models on various newer inventions, deliberations on various challenges faced by the orthopaedic surgeons on and off the field are also scheduled for discussion. On all three days, the deliberations will focus on difficult case scenarios the surgeons come across every now and then.

The oration of the conference will be given by Dr. Asode Ananthram Shetty - Hunterian Professor from UK. Apart from Dr Shetty, many international faculty members from US, UK, Holland and Singapore will participate in the deliberations. Many faculties from Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi and Kolkata will be attending the conference.
