Soldier from Guruvayanakere was in the missing Air Force plane ?

Belthangady, July 23, 2016:  It has been reliably gathered that Ekanath Shetty (48) from Guruvayanakere  who was serving in the Defence Service Corps (DSC) Department of the Indian Air Force was in the ill-fated  Air Force  cargo plane that has gone missing while flying to Port Blair from Chennai on July 22.

Ekanath Shetty who had earlier worked in the Indian Army had  joined the Air Force after opting for retirement from the army. It is learnt, he was in his hometown  recently and had rejoined duty just three days prior to the incident.

Sources said Air Force officials have contacted the wife of Shetty and has informed her that Ekanath was on the missing plane. Ekanath’s wife is a teacher at SDM  school in Ujire.
