Social survey/ Census, citizens must co-operate to maximum

Udupi, Mar 1 april 2015 : Speaking at the  inaugural os a workshop on social and educational census organised by the District Administration in association with District Information Department,  Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Kanagavalli said participation of all in social and educational survey initiated by the State government is needed to evaluate the social and education status of every individual.

The CEO said accurate details of social and education status of each individual would enable the government to formulate developmental schemes for different categories.

The social and educational census is to be held this month which is initiated by the State government to be used to design programmes.  The programmes for various classes and creeds at present  is based on the survey that was held in the year 1931. The out dated data is not justified in the introduction of developmental programmes of all communities in the present times.   The Additional Deputy Commissioner also said there was criticisms over the survey to be taken up, the survey will prove to be helpful in the future.

The schoolteachers are appointed for the purpose and would result in the proper  collection of data as they are specifically trained. All steps are in place for an accurate survey.
