Six cases booked ,17 arrested in connection with communal violence in DK: ADGP

Mangaluru, July 12, 2017 : Addressing the media at commissioner’s office today July 12, ADGP Alok Mohan said that Six cases have been booked ands 17 persons arrested in connection with the communal violence in the district. All the arrested  are said to be locals and not from Kerala.

No untoward incidents have repeated since two days. The stabbing incidents in Ullal and Uppinagady recently is purely personnel issues , the people need not link it with the past communal clashes whick took place in the dstrict.


Prohibitory orders has been extended till July 21 just on the basis of safety to the public. As per the order, a gathering of five or more people with an intention to create unrest will not be allowed, and no one will be allowed to carry weapons or other harmful objects. The order will not affect routine activities of the people, he said.


He appreciated  Mayor’s move on raidng illegal massage parlours and  skill game centre’s in the city and their support will always be there. The action has to be taken on drug peddling cases in the city as it a maenace, also asked the public  to co-operate and inform if any.


He requested the public not to respond to comments which huts the sentiments of any religion on socail media and report to the police if any. No innocent will be punished and no criminal will be spared.


Police Commissioner T R Suresh, IGP Harishekaran, and Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Reddy was present.
