Shringeri shoot-out was accidental, says probe report

Mangaluru, Mar 21, 2015: The magisterial enquiry report regarding the Shringeri shoot-out case wherein Kabeer, a youth of Jokatte was  killed, is out. The report has concluded that the shoot-out at Tanikodu near Shringeri was an accident and not a deliberate act. The report has been submitted to the government.

 Following the incident which had created much uproar the Government had directed the Chikkamagaluru DC B Shekharappa to investigate and submit a report.

The incident had taken place on April 17,2014  wherein Anti-Naxal Force constable Naveen had fired at Kabeer while he along with others  were allegedly illegally transporting cattle.  Naveen was later arrested following widespread protests.

It has been gathered that during the magisterial probe, the family members of Kabeer had not come forward to give their statement despite summons.
