Mangaluru, Sep 24, 2017: Brahmashree Narayana Guru had fought against blind beliefs, superstition, unemployment , poverty. He also fought for the rights of the oppressed and their social and political representation. He had given a clarion call to obtain education and become independent. Shree Narayana Guru’s movement was not just a religious movement, but also movement that united the youth and brought about social reforms. This movement must continue," said Dinesh Amin Mattu, Advisor to Chief Minister.
He was speaking after inaugurating district level seminar on Shree Narayana Guru entitled "Yuvajanara Guru mathu Guri- Narayana Guru" at the auditorium of St Aloysius College on the occasion of the 163rd birth anniversary of the great saint philosopher.
Continuing, he said at a time when the backward classes were denied entry to Temples, Narayana Guru established a separate temple for Elavas and installed Shivalinga there thus disarming the enemies without the use of arms.
He also stated that senior leader Janardhana Poojary was the most capable leader who can effectively sensitize the society on the messages of Sri Narayana Guru.
