Shobha Karandlaje lambastes Malala Yousafzai over Tweets on Jammu and Kashmir

Hyderabad, September 15: Hours after the Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai’s urged the UN to act and work towards helping Kashmiri children return to school amid the ongoing restrictions in the valley, BJP MP from Karnataka Shobha Karandlaje asked her to raise instead concern for minorities in Pakistan where they are subjected to "forceful conversion and persecution".

The BJP parliamentarian told the Nobel laureate that India is listening to the voices of people in Jammu and Kashmir and is pursuing development projects post Article 370 abrogation.

The response of the BJP politician arrived after Yousafzai took to Twitter and wrote, "I am asking leaders, at #UNGA and beyond, to work towards peace in Kashmir, listen to Kashmiri voices and help children go safely back to school."

Earlier too, Yousafzai had commented on the Kashmir issue where she had appealed or an end to the conflict in the region after relations between India and Pakistan. The Indian government on August 5 have revoked the special provisions provided to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.
