Mangaluru, August 20, 2017: Even celebritis with Mangaluru ties can never isolate them selves from the ethos of the legacy it sems.  Recently, the world was witness to B-town actor and Mangaluru lass Shilpa Shetty’s love for a local delicacy ’Pelakaida Gatti’.

Shilpa shared a video of her indulging in a sweet dish that is made out of jackfruit and is gently steamed in teak leaves, with a filling of coconut and jaggery. A monsoon season favourite, Shilpa confessed that it is one of her top faves and cousins who have come over from Mangaluru made it for her.

"And I’m pairing it with Moong Payasam which I absolutely love. This is for all my Mangalurean friends," she said towards the end of the video. Within no time, the post fetched endless comments from nostalgia Mangalureans the world over.
