Shetty Murder: Will DNA test tighten up the case?

Mangaluru Aug 18, 2016: Courts orders DNA Test in the cold blodded murder of and Investigating team appealed to the court to subject mother Gulabi Shetty and Brother for DNA test and police have collected the blood samples required for the test.

DNA will be done so that to match it with the pieces of bones found in the Palli river.

Report on bones is awaited from Bengaluru and after the completion of DNA test the report is expected to be out in 15 days, said Public prosecutor Praveen Kumar.

He said that, if the DNA samples matches with the bones then it would definitely tightened up the case against the case. 

Expertise said that, bone samples will not be sufficient enough to match it with the blood samples of Bhaskar Shetty’s mother and brother and chances to find fault by defense. 

Police have not confirmed about any other evidence by them except the blood stained clothes of Niranjan Bhat and Rajeshwari.

Locals alleged that police could have collected more evidence from where he was burnt. It could be hair, nail, and peels of skin. So far Police denied giving information on the evidences collected.

People believe that the police have taken the case seriously after they faced initial allegation of favoring the main accused.
