Sharada Vidyaniketan PU College wins ‘Prathyuthara-2019’

Mangaluru, Nov 13, 2019:  ‘Prathyuthara-2019’,  was organised by Sharada Degree College, Devinagara, Talapady,  an inter-collegiate quiz competition for pre-university students at Haridasa Mandira.  Sixteen teams from Kasargod and Dakshina Kannada districts participated in the competition.

The quiz consisted of ‘Eight’ distinctive rounds, which were presented with creativity, thrill and suspense. The quest for knowledge, the hunt for correct answers and the battle between teams till the end was the highlight of the day. The 16 participating teams bore the names of famous works of Kannada authors, to make students aware of the richness and contributions of the works to society.

‘Prathyuthara-2019’ was inaugurated by Prof M B Puranik, president of the Sharada Educational Institutions.

In his address Prof Puranik said, “Updated information, memory and utilisation are three essentials of any quiz competition. The top requirement in the age of fast internet and growing technology – when information and answers can be found on fingertips – is the need for remembrance and utilisation whenever required.”

‘Nadhaleele’ team from Sharada Vidyaniketan PU College, Talapady, won the first place. ‘Pakshikashi’ team from St Sebastian PU College, Thokottu, won the second prize and ‘Meghadootha’ team from Sharada PU College, Kodialbail, won the third prize.

Vivek Thanthri, administrator of Vidyaniketan; Dr Kabinale Balakrishna Bharadwaj, principal of Sharada Degree College; Vinayak B G, principal of Sharada Vidyaniketan PU College; Mohandas, principal of Sharada Vidyaniketan Day Board; and Sushma Dinkar, principal of Sharada Vidyaniketan Residential School were present and there was a great enthusiasm all along.
