Several students hospitalized for food poisoning

Mangalore, Oct 21, 2011 : Several Ayurveda students, who had participated in a farewell ceremony, organized by their college for its final year students, landed up in hospital because of food poisoning.

A number of students and teachers, who had partaken of food at the farewell ceremony, ended up in the hospital. A city-based hotel had supplied food, including burgers, for the function.


Around 300 people consumed food at this function, and out of them 160 complained of various symptoms including nausea. Around 120 students, who suffered from mild symptoms, were given first aid and sent home and 40 others were treated in SCS Hospital. Most of these students are from Kerala.
