Several organisations protest against Motor Vehicles Act, pathetic highways

Mangaluru, Sep 25, 2019: Various organisations and  transport unions staged a protest  in the city on September 25, Wednesday to protest  against the Union Government’s  New Motor Vehicles Act and various other issues including pathetic highways.

 

Speaking on the occasion, MLC Ivan D’Souza  demanded immediate revoking of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act.

Activist M G Hegde who also spoke, alleged that  the Act was a means to loot people.

DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla highlighted the pathetic state of highways  and accused the Highway Authority  of shrugging off its responsibility  by citing  excuses.

The protestors even took out a march from  Mini Vidhana Saudha  upto the DC office.
