Seven road projects launched in city

Mangaluru, July 28, 2015: As announced foundations were laid for 7 road projects to the tune of  Rs 16.70 crore in Mangaluru city on July 27.  The roads are being developed under first and second phase of Nagarothana project’s  SFC grant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The roads to be concreted and developed are  Konchadi- Kavoor stretch (690 metre length, 8 metre width) worth Rs 2 crore, Bondel-Pacchanadi road (510 metre, 8 metre) worth Rs 1.50 crore, Maladi Court road (800 metre, 7 metre) worth Rs 2 crore, Lady Hill circle- Koragajjana Gudi (365 metres, 14 metre width, one metre median) worth Rs 1.90 crore, Durgamahal- Bokkapatna Church (600 metre, 7 metre) worth Rs 1.65 crore, Subhashnagar Junction- Mangaladevi temple (500 metre, 14 metre median, 1.50 metre footpath) worth Rs 4.65 crore and Mallikatte to Kadri temple (105 metre, 12 metre width, 1.50 footpath) worth Rs 1 crore.

DK District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai said cost has been estimated for six road construction works. Road development between Kankanady circle and Retreat House at a cost of Rs 2 crore, Muttappagudi to Shaktinagar (Rs 1.90 crore), Padau High School to Sharabat Katte (Rs one crore), Kodialguttu (Rs 60 lakh), Highland to Attavar (Rs 1.80 crore) and Surathkal Chokkabettu road at a cost of Rs two crore. Works will be taken up soon.

New bus stand  :  The plans of proposed Pumpwell bus stand project is under review by MCC officials. The bus stand will be built in Public Private Partnership (PPP) model spending around Rs 110 crore. The work on renovation of Town Hall would be completed before November 2015.  The Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared for the development of five markets.

Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that Mangalore City Corporation has submitted proposals for development works worth Rs 20 crores under Asian Development Bank (ADB) first phase.

Footpath and drainage works will get Premier FAR fund of Rs 80 crore. Answering a query, the minister said that he would initiate process to form ward committees within two days.
